DNSSEC offers 4 new record types to authenticate the origin and data integrity of the system while overcoming the disadvantages of the original primitive design.

DNS public key record (DNSKEY - DNS Public Key): used to authenticate the data zone.

Resource Record Signature (RRSIG): used to authenticate resource records in the data zone.
